Pian Upe Game Reserve

Very few travelers know this game reserve. Located in the Karamoja subregion of northeastern Uganda, Pian Upe is an off the beaten trail destination for wildlife enthusiasts. It is the second largest conservation protected area in Uganda hosting incredible wildlife including cheetahs, leopards, buffaloes, several species of antelopes etc. This game reserve is underrated but one of the most interesting places to visit in North Eastern Uganda. The area once supported healthy populations of lions, elephants, black rhinos and giraffes, though these are now locally extinct.
